Who orders beef in Chicago

Container, bulk and ro-ro ships usually provision for the next ocean passage. We quote in kg with IMPA codes so the order matches the master's requisition. Tugs, supply boats and barge crews order crew-mess beef in frequent, smaller lots. Domestic vessels need no export certificate. Ship chandlers in Chicago can buy from us by the case or pallet for their own vessel orders.

How delivery works

Ocean-going ships enter the Great Lakes through the St. Lawrence Seaway, which is usually open from late March to late December. We plan stock around that season. We supply Great Lakes ports through partner chandlers and refrigerated freight, delivered to the berth or the chandler's warehouse.

In Chicago your order reaches the berth or the chandler's warehouse in sealed cases, with the temperature log for the whole trip.
