About the Port of Port of Spain
Port of Spain is Trinidad's capital port for containers and cruise calls, close to the island's offshore energy industry.
Who orders beef in Port of Spain
Container, bulk and ro-ro ships usually provision for the next ocean passage. We quote in kg with IMPA codes so the order matches the master's requisition. Cruise ships on Caribbean itineraries order Choice and Prime cuts for the dining rooms and crew-mess beef for the crew. Tugs, supply boats and crew boats order crew-mess beef in frequent, smaller lots. Ship chandlers in Port of Spain can buy from us by the case or pallet for their own vessel orders.
How delivery works
We ship US beef to Caribbean ports in reefer containers on the regular services from Florida and the Gulf Coast, then deliver through local partner chandlers. Each island sets its own import rules. We ship with the USDA export certificate the destination requires. Guadeloupe, Martinique and Saint-Martin follow EU rules, so only EU-eligible beef from non-hormone-treated cattle can go there.
For Port of Spain, we ship in reefer containers ahead of the vessel's call. Our partner chandler delivers to the berth, or by launch to ships at anchor, with the temperature record for the whole trip.
